God has a plan for YOU.
WE ALL have a desperate need for God's mercy. WE have
a spiritual problem called sin.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of
God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
- Romans 6:23
God's mercy provides the only solution. Who is
God?
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went out of the
water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven
said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well
pleased."
Matthew 3:16-17
The only true God is the Triune God (Trinity): Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. God loves YOU.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life.
John 3:16
Can you do anything to be loved by
God?
For it is by grace you have been saved, through
faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by
works, so that no one can boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
God's gift is shown to us in the Gospel. What is the
Gospel?
Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I
preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your
stand.
1 Corinthians 15:1
Jesus Christ died and rose for the sins of ALL people.
How do we receive this gift that God wants to give
us?
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:16
Simply believe it. But what can I do about the guilt
that I feel?
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and
the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:8
Confess it all to God. As we repent and believe, God
brings us into his family through baptism.
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart
and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we
do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the
name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your
children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God
will call."
Acts 2:37-39
In baptism God washes our sins away and gives us the
Holy Spirit. Because of Jesus we have nothing to
fear.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever
lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe
this?"
John 11:25
We have victory over death through Jesus Christ. After
death we will be with Christ forever.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God;
trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not
so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for
you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and
take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the
way to the place where I am going." Thomas said to him: "Lord, we
don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" Jesus
answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me."
John 14:1-6
Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is Lord over all things.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger
or sword? As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day
long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am
convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,
neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height
nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to
separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
Romans 8:35-39
Because He is God, Christ is stronger than anything
that could hurt us. He is stronger than death and the
devil.
Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared
in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds
the power of death--this is, the devil--and free those who all their
lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Hebrews 2:14-15
Christians will be with Jesus forever in Heaven. What
will Heaven be like?
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer
any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of
heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her
husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the
dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be
his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He
will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or
mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed
away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything
new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy
and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink
without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes
will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my
son."
Revelations 21:1-7
